A little bit about me

Professionally

I am a creative technologist, researcher, violinist, composer and improviser. I create works and systems which bring live performance into conversation with real-time technology, using sensor-based interfaces, interactive audio and visuals, machine learning and physical computing. My work grows through collaboration with musicians, artists, designers and technologists.

I recently completed a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Technology Sydney. My research, Performing the Interface: Practice-Based Approaches to Designing an Audiovisual Collaborative Partner, explored a minimally invasive violin-bow interface and the creative relationships that develop between performers, instruments and interactive systems.

I am now based in Canberra and currently work full-time at Cognative Advantage, where I started in March 2026 after completing a PhD internship with the company earlier this year.

I completed an MFA in Integrated Composition, Improvisation and Technology at the University of California, Irvine in 2016. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Performance from the Australian Institute of Music.
